interest is always the part that's missing.

all these orgs are fun in their own respect, but coming to a show with 7 competitors just sucks.

no

tnespl is ok, except the format kinda sucks... IDBL is a good alternative, except people want head to head competition. I personally think it idbl good and if the serious competitors around here were building for their classes, they would enjoy it much more.

On that note, IASCA has only 4 or 5 shows on shedule this season....all in conjunction with XTS car show tour, id like to see everyone support these events. Last season I seen more than 40 spl competitors at each of their shows, and between 200 to 300 show cars.

I guess the first question that has to be asked is - Why do we need new/more orgs? What do we want to get out of it?

"Just" across the border is still another country eh. Not my favorite either
Seems to me, that in general, people go to whatever shows are the closest to them, no matter what sanctioning body is running it.

I personally really like the Bassrace and Psyclone formats, but I bet people would support any sanctioning body that would put on multiple shows/competitons close to them, and here's the kicker... Have a Finals nearby.

"who's going to foot the bill? "

You got me .. Hard to make the investment back these days I bet.
It must be like throwing a free kegger for a bunch of people you don't know, only not quite as fun

I agree head to head is great, but it is also copyrighted by dbdrag. A amateur league can start off with head to head classes, but if it gains any ground dbdrag will put a end to it very quick.

you can do "head" to "head" legally if you use two different meters. how's that for a loophole?

you know, with a sponsor anything is possible. but no interest = no sponsors.

I'm in the Montreal, QC area and the scene here is practically dead. Its kinda depressing when you go to a meet or to a competition around here to see only 15 people.. if that. I know theres a few people around here that are interested in going to comps, etc but for the most part everyone just wants to have fun. I'm not so much about numbers anymore than I am about gettinga system and just seeing what it can do.

Its fun around here to go to meets where everyone has 1 12 and thinks its the bomb! Then me and some buddies pull into the parking lot with 6 10s, 2 15s, etc. I mean were in no way competitors like some of you but we like to have fun and be part of the audio scene.

But when it comes down to it, if i've seen 15 people in Montreal that are serious competitors, theres not many. Me and some buddies are trying to get the scene more popular but not many want to be part of it sadly

Yaniv is the one to talk to in the Montreal area. The couple of shows I've been to that he put on were good ones. If I know of any of them in that area I will be there.
