Red face

So... need some suggestions here folks.

I just popped in the new system. Whenever I burp though it skips like crazy.

Anything over 140db is just useless.

fyi though.. I pulled it out and had it resting in a shirt and pulled off a 146.1.. w/ 1 inhuman and 1 D2 not bad!

So any suggestions?

MB Quart marine cd player has a 30 second anti skip buffer and 5volt preouts. I have had great successes with Eclipse cd players not skipping in higher SPL systems as well. Is this cd player mounted into a plastic kit and then the dash? How is it mounted and in what vehicle?

Using the Quart NRA450 in my truck, handles 142 on the new sensor fine, 148 on an Audiocontrol mic without a hitch.......

Hey JordyO, a while back I had a similar problem at high volumes (I don't SPL comp though... ) but it wasn't my CD player skipping, it was my remote turn on was dropping too low so one amp would shut off and then turn back on yada yada yada. Fixed it by setting up a relay for the remote turn on.

Hrm... that MB Quart HU sounds promising.

Problem is I've got a comp tomorrow and I was hoping to get something to help by then.

I don't believe it's the remote turn on though because like I said, when I pull the HU out of the dash and just hold it (or wrap it in something) then it burps just fine.

ok he didnt ask what u are hitting if your decks are skipping, he asked for a suggestion to prevent that. dodgeram was the only guy attempting.

JordyO run straight power wire from your battery into the deck's power. voltage drop can be the reason for your problem. also try to play a diff frequency.

No back strap.. the weird part is that when I've got it unclipped from the cage the HU will play the note just fine. It'll just vibrate itself out of the cage though.

Yuli... I've tried a bunch of dif. freq's between 40 and 60...they all do the same thing.

ahwell... the comp is today so I'm gonna go **** around with it a bit more. I've got a few other ideas.

I'll let you guys know how it works out

Thanks for the help everyone!
