Cool "DB Drag CD Only" ... Question

So I've noticed that some manufacturers are eliminating CD players from their deck's altogether ...

Has anyone considered this?

What are we going to do when a competitor shows up with no CD Player ... tell them to leave?

I want a fair level of competition across the board, just as much as the next person, but I want to make sure that everyone considers the future ...
That CD's in the car and very quickly becoming a thing of the past.

They could always have an ipod or usb with the tracks on it kept by the judges at competitions. They may have had this with tape decks to cd's too in some cases? So i guess just change with the times.

Yeah according to the new rules anything designed for use in a vehicle with 12volts is legal. Sooo Ipods, USB drives, etc are all okay to use now. Heck my deck has 512mb of internal memory in it. I have my test tones and bassrace song saved on it. Can you say no CD skipping ever. LOL

ipods are not designed to be used in a 12v environment.

If you really count how many competitors use IPOD, I'd say that CD is from the past, haha.

yeah but Don if you're deck says iPod ready then I think you have a fair argument. technically speaking I don't think CD's were ever meant to be for use cars until players were made for them. same with usb's but I figure if the deck has a usb slot then a usb becomes valid. still think the cd's only at multis is a bit harsh, but I guess they wanna make sure that all the records are set with the most even playing field possible.

but don't worry Nick, the rules look like anything is legal in bass race, and we both know thats all that matters.

You got it bro. Don put a stop to my idea of turning down a 3k to only output 2k as they go by the amps rated power as well as the actual output. Looks like no Street stock for you this year unless you downgrade your amp. Dam I was looking forward to kicking your *** in bassrace and Dbdrag. LOL Guess it will just be bassrace this year for us.

he can still compete in dbdrag. nick. all he has to do is clamp the amp and see what volume is safe for him to stay under 2k. its called testing buddy.
