Figure this out - Car On = Lower SPL

hi, i had the same problem in my van that i had a higher score with it off than with it on...when i checked the alt, the pos. wire seemed like it was making contact with something...i fixed that and the score went higher w/ it on than off
Maybe this:
More voltage more HU senoildal wave amplitude (voltage)
More that, more power the amp try to drain from the batts
More that (street cat.?) the amp won´t get all this power due to battery limitation and the amplifier power supply voltage drops, clipping the senoidal wave.
We know that clipped or square wave have less eff on air pressurization = lower SPL.
Yuli, can you use 5 or 10% less volume with the car ON and BURP?

Oh, before anyone pounces and informs me we are talking AMPS not VOLTS, most, if not all voltage regulators are integral to the alt. these days and they can cause all sorts of weird stuff to happen when they start to fail.
Back in the prehistoric days the regulator was pretty much the first thing to replace (cheap & easy) when electrical issues cropped up.
