how much power?
i want to run 2 12 inch pionner subs they are dual voice coil i have the choice of getting them in 4ohm or 2ohm they are rated for 400 WRMS
so my question is how much of an amp do i need to drive thease subs?
if i bought the 4 ohm spearkers and wired them in series it would equal a total load of 4 ohm so do i need an amp that will do 800 watt at 4 ohm to get the most out of thease subs?
if i used the 2 ohm speakers it would then be a 2ohm total load right??? so would i then only need an amp that ould do 800 watt at 2 ohm?

No.
Dual 4 ohm coils will parallel down to 1 ohm, so you need around 800w at 1 ohm.
Dual 2 ohm coils will series parallel to 2 ohms, meaning you need 800w at 2 ohms.
The Dual 4 ohm coils is a better choice, then buy my amp
