Well I have an SX18, rated for the same 1000, and I'm running a Power Acoustik OV1-5500D to it (rated at 3200@1 ohm.. if I'm lucky). I let 'er buck on that amp daily and it takes the power like a champ... after a while you can smell a bit of a stench, but just turn it down, let the coils cool off, then giver again.. I wouldn't through a true 3000 at it daily, but I think it could take it.

AND with the high power be carefull of the low fequencies, you will reach mechanical limits quite quickly at 20 Hz

You can't compaire 6 seconds of a burp to playing them. You said that you gave it all and could smell coil and that you let it cool then do it again doing that it will eventualy blow. Also as some one that has taken a set of RE SX10 to thier limit they will blow with 3000 rms per sub. they held up decent thow when I was only get just shy of 2000w but they will eventualy blow.
