Nice vid. If you do add more port area to the box as it is, it will raise your tuning. Im suggesting you build a new box, with larger port area, and tune lower. IMO 49hz is too high for a j-body.

my car is responding to 49 hz neither of my boxes are tuned for it, the box u see in the video is tuned at 43 hz and the box i tested with last saturday was tuned right around 46 to 49 hz, The thing about making a larger port is needing a larger box, The box's that i have just barely fit as is so a bigger box is not an option. I just need to add some more deadner to the trunk lid and to the roof and doors and I will be louder.

Some people keep telling me make the box slide in from the rear seat, well thats a even smaller opening then the trunk lid and I dont wanna have to cut any steal as this is my daily driver and my kids sits in the back seat. I will get into test with the box I have now (one with 4 inch port) and see how it does now that there is some deadner in the trunk also.

I love the car seat/sub arrangement- I'm in the same boat.
How did you calculate your port dimensions? I have some crazy numbers generated by the usual online port calculators for my box, and may have to use the 4" flared port I have en route when I think a slot port would yield higher DB.

thanks man, I am still trying to perfect it as much as possible, I want this thing louder. As luke did mention earlier on in this post I am only running 600 watt rms subs so I am limited to numbers i can produce as subs can only handle so much power. Some deadner, and some resin in my box would help me out greatly as well as another drycell battery under the hood. Hoping to make it to soundsgood audio show in coquitlam bc on august 21st but only time will tell if i can or not.

Well since I started this post I have built a new box, blew subs and reconned them myself with some heavier duty dual 1 ohm coils. I went to western canadian finals and finished first in idbl stock 2 with a score of 144.6 and finished first in usaci trunk 1000+ with a score of 147.5. I then decided after reading some post on here and other places to try sealing off my trunk with a center port and this is what I came up with, I will now know what kinda numbers it is hitting till sept 25th.
