Noob, first spl comp
Hello everyone,
OK, upcomming on may 14th East Hamilton Radio is holding a SPL Competition, Ive never entered any competitions before. It seems that this is a good place to start because it is a small competition. They do not use any C.A.S.L rules or anything, they rate the classes purely by woofer sq"
0-144 sq" (1 12, 1 10, 1-2 8s)
144-300 sq" (1 18, 1 15, 2 12s, 2-3 10s, 3-4 8's)
301+ sq"
I have 2-12" Kaption SPL subs in a 3.8 cu' box and a Memphis 16-st1000d amp @ 1ohm. But my main question is this. In your profesional opinions will I be better to run this setup or 1-12"Kaption (different box obviously)and the memphis @ 2-ohm. I just want to use the power I have to its best effect.
Specs for amp are.
1100W rms @1ohm
600W rms @2ohm
300W rms @4ohm
Subs are dual 4ohm 250rms/coil (500each)
Btw, car is allowed to be running and I have an upgraded alt, so no worrys about current

The single box is made by Kaption for the subs. The dual box is just twice as big as the single and made by me. I used a tunning frequency calculator on the net once and if I remember correctly it came out to 32 hz, I have no clue how accurate that is though.
