when using a AA battery to test polarity on a speaker, does that make it move the farthest it can in both directions?

no not really the move voltage will make it move more and to see what the polarity is you have to have a pretty good eye..

using the battery is a easy test and I found out all of my speakers were backwards, not that it made a difference afterwards that I can tell
