Ok I have 2 RE 15" HC subs. And my question is can I run these in the same sub box with 2 ports or should I figure it out to make 2 ports 1. Which I think I should do it this way but just asking. And they each want 3.5'ft3 each so should I make a 7'ft3 box or something else. These will be mainly for spl but also some listening to music. So someone help me out?

just get the specs and DESIGN a box... I never use manufacturers designed boxes, thgey do work fine but do not optimize the box for SPL..but a SAFE design

If they are mainly for SPL can you make the box any bigger?

I was running 10 cubes with my pair of HC's and I was thinking about going a tad bit bigger and tuning higher with more port.

I had 62 inches of port per woofer, 5 cubes after all displacement per woofer and 39 hz tuning.

As for same or seperate box, I'd just go with 1 common box, and then use some thread rod to brace the box.

Good luck,

obviously you are building a wall..right? and box and port size depends on how much power you have and the frequency you need to use for your car

no i am not building a wall in the beetle. it is just going to be a really big box that removes the back seat in the car. i will get a pic of what i am going to be starting with just so you can see what i am doing. but each 15" will be powered by a MA Audio HK-1397 1 x 1600W RMS @ 4 Ohm Mono. so one amp for each sub. so i am not sure about what i should make the port tuned to and the size i should make the box

i dont know how to have that checked. and right now the car is without an inside. so if you can point me in the right driection that would be great. B/c we want to start making the box and wiring up the car which will take some time and then we have to do body work and paint.

if you want to do the testing properly the car needs to be in one piece interior and all cause all the material and carpeting will effect the resonance
