Overall, I think I will have to agree with Sassmaster on this guys. To do the job properly you need the proper tools. If your going to solder, make sure you know how to first (the joint should be shinny). But since we may not have access to the "proper" tools, some of us will just have the do as best we can. Which I think is what Tinted was trying to do.
nissan guy is right. its the best of both worlds. if you just crimp or just solder your only getting half of what you COULD have just as easily. Lets face it guys, its not a lot of work to do both. just use a torch even to solder.

Put the wire in, smash down one side of the wire area until you can squeeze the terminal sideways. Then, smash the terminal in the middle with a punch.
Works good, I have a lot of them done like that in my room, I just have no digicam. Oh, and a few are soldered ... solder helps to keep the corrosion of the copper down and the terminal connection looking a little bit prettier.
