went to my first comp. i guess you could say.... i ran a 142.1 on my first run and 142.0 on my second run with 2 12" titanium elites ...going to look into going to more comps. get out and meet people get some advice on how to score higher db's get mic'ed and tweak my setup i won't be running the elites i don;t think i am gonna try to stick with my kaption spl's with my mtx 7801...so hopefully i can meet some of you guys sometime soon

 

142 is nothing to complain about.. for a first show using a store boughten box and PG Elites you did very well.. congrats..

My First run was a 137.0 using a ported box..
My Best Run was a 140.1 using that same box - simply by moving the box back

I built a new box - tuned a bit higher - larger port - 142db
same box - added braces - reson - 143.7

Built a sealed spare tire enclosure - 134db. Broke a chunk out of the bottom of it - its sitting waiting for me to repair it.

Built my current box - bigger port area (150 Squar inches) and it is by far the loudest - yet to meter it,, i was just lazy on Sunday

I think its time to buy a meter

 

buy a meter if you want to get into competition , sometimes loud to the ear is not loud on the meter ....... have fun playing with it I know I do

hey man lol this isn't blake i am actual one of his friends ....i accidently left my cca account on on his pc and he posted up all his stuff for sale under my name so now we basically share it...so i help him with sales and such ...oh yah but he did put the elites in my car for the weekend so there not mine i was borrowing them for it

 

sounds like you need a new box

A customer of mine had a car there with 2 RF P2 10's and it hit 143.6db and it was all in the box. I'm sure there is a few DB left to be had in your setup just need to spend some time building and tuning a proper SPL box.

dude were u even there ? the highest spl of the day was 146 with two 9500 in there custom boxs and if ur talking about the guy from future shop he hit 136 with the purple neon

 

Nope not there but I did have the car on our meter hitting 144db....also it doesnt matter if a guy has 9500's if they are in the wrong box and underpowered. Unfortunate thing is I have not seen one properly built SPL box in the Belleville area period except for ours.....wait wait I havent seen one porperly built box at all not just SPL boxes and thats including what I see from the other shops in town.
