Hi Louis, SPL is not dependent on frequency, now the displacement needed to achieve that SPL is dependent on frequency... as examples we have the extreme vehicles burping at around 60Hz

Lou, the box determines what frequency you will burp more than any other factor, not so much the cabin size.

also lower peak and bigger box doesnt mean lower spl.

i bet you that even in your truck, after you added that big amp and the battery in the back you will be louder if you burp a hz or two down from what you burped before, try it.

I agree completely. I have boxes all different sizes. I actually have one box that does 155.2 at 50hz. Then I have a box that does 156.6 at 56 hz. but my loudest box peaks at 53 hz. you have to test every size box. Once you change the style of box you have to start all over with box volume because many factors will come into play like where your ports are loading, where your subs are firing/loading, impedence rise, etc.

The loudest guys are the guys that put the most work in.

mmm, Well thank you all for takin your time to correct my "assumption" I guess its what we can call it. I honestly did belive that a lower HZ meant a lower Score. I guess I do need to do a lil more testing.
But thats why we have these forums with cool and informative members like you guys to help out, I appreciate everyones input, and promise I will be testing some more.

we see paterns in our testing that lead us to believe certain frequencys produce better spl than others. Meanwhile the frequency that makes most spl depends on cone area and brute power. In street classes you will use less power and less cone area. To make this work you will need a small enclosure to maximize cone pressure (from one of my previous posts) the small enclosure will have a high RF......you will often see higher spl @higher freq. If you have alot of cone area to do the job and the enclosure/power to compress the woofers... ie: A-team's bassracer, the lower frequencys will win you high spl. The larger box allows for proper loading of all that cone area and being so large with so much cone area, the RF goes down. This is why159.9+ bassracers use alot of cone area.

Well, yes, but inside a competition car you will have lots of variables, as impedance dictates the power you get form the amplifiers (and it changes for every frequency as we know) and of course, the car plays louder at a certain frequency... if you get technical you will see no SPL difference depending on freq.
