SPL System - Everyone's Input wanted!!!
for $1000 you could probobly not get enough stuff...if you already had a deck then maybe you can though. A single 12" descent SPL woofer would run you around $400canadian used and a D2 could be had for around $500 canadian...then you just gotta buy some wiring and wood which would cost like $100 total and your good to go.

consdering that most guys already have ok stuff. and that most retail prices are around that range, what else can you do besides Batterys. 1000 batt can make a world of difference. either one kickass battery or a really good one with the new trimmings(big *** wire and connecions). Since cars dont run in street, i figure that batts are the most important.no?

I still think it can not be done if you have to buy everything. If you already have a deck, use a stock batt and find cheap wire then maybe.
Hopefully your deck has a remote or you won't get a certified score though. That is always a clincher.

I think you could do very well for around $1000 if time is spent on the install.
A D2 for around $350, a single DD sub or kicker 12" for about the same, and a big walmart battery would give you good enough equipment to be competitive. Only question then, is whether you can get a neon loud. Also would depend on whether you need to buy a deck or not.

i bet anyone could place top 6 in canada with 1K of equip. you just have to have the right box and stuff. i mean this year for the whole year i will only be running aprox $1200 of equip in my street vehicle. then for finals i iwll upgrade to the 5K of equip or whatev! LOL.

I can help out with a d2 for a good deal, and I think I remember Ray had a single 12 dd in a box with a 6" flare port at the Calgary visions show that would work perfect. That should get you up to a 45+ with some tuning and a decent battery?
