Update: Problem Solved!!!!
No changer needed. The deadener helped but didnt fix the skipping, so out came the steel, to solidify things up a bit.
So now I'm ready to put up some #s.

I used to have this exact same problem with my kenwood, then I bought an eclipse. The rest is history.
