Trunk Cars
Done properly forward...without a crapload of work fire them backwards.Low frequencies rool off the woofer and will naturaly roll off the box..so if you can close the trunk off to the car(to avoid cancelation)go forward!
loud to the ear and loud to hte mic is 2 diffrent things....you will also get more canelations when firing into the back....but you will find your peak is a lower freq....and firing forward....you will not only have less cancelation...but your freq will be higher.....
Interesting stuff.... thanks for all the help gang - Now I assume that sealing off a trunk would be a pretty arduous task... What sorts of materials would a person need to bust that maneuver?
I suppose that's where the expanding foam and stuff would come in... there's about 2" of gap on either side between the box and trunk wall, and another couple inches from the top of the box to the roof of the trunk, so I'd imagine I wouldn't need tooooo much stuff...
I think it'd be worth a try and fun to attempt, but I just don't wanna destroy the rear end of my beloved saturn!

I drive a 2002 frod focus(Trunk)
I had them backwards , forwards and now Sideways.
I had to rebuild the sides of the trunk to make it thicker. But that is the best way for my car....I also love the loud music,so sound Q is a big thing to.
