people did 160 in a rex, not db drag street legal tho

with a few mods this car can be close to a 160 with the same box but it wont fall under the street class tho.

Maybe I am missing the point but those boxes and those scores have been around for years. What is different? Are you guys just building the same stuff over and over. The problem with the Rex in general is that the sound needs to get past the box and as you put more in the car that gets harder. What kind of numbers can you do with that power on 3 10s in a box like Yuli had in his car at finals a couple years back?

Also a bunch of years ago Wayne seemed fine with modding the car if it was to put in a custom box. Can you rip out the cargo tray under the box and drop the box down a bit and make it look custom so they say it's ok and then again go with the 3 10s across the front

People said these amps are very inefficient, they will not do power, they will do dirty power and break speakers, etc etc.

on two 12v batteries with car off, burping 54hz we got 12k from the pair, starting at 0.5 ohm per amp (not strapped). voltage dropping to 9.8v on a full burp. Performance of these amps is undoubtful.
You still have a couple kW (good for the score) to pull from these two amps... the impedance rise might be holding them back.

The "dirty power" I see people referring to is due to poor tuning, if you just slap the amp into a setup it WONT perform properly, they are different amps so they require a more technical tune. They have a high input gain so from one click to another you can have as much as 30V output difference, so IF YOU DO NOT PROPERLY TUNE you can go from a lower score than it can do to a completely clipped output wave.

The clipping is dependent on the battery supply, the stronger the supply later the amp will clip, of course.

Its a good point but I think the more subs the better as his freq is a bit on the low end, you would end up breaking a lot of them in street C. I'd stick to 4x12s in street C

A question that has been running through my head. What was your gain swapping out the sonotubes for the pvc pipe? Not your final tuning score, but the straight swap out score?
