if the 5 cuft box is actually in the trunk of your grand am, you will probably have hard time breaking 140 on a termlab. a 5 cuft box probably block the path big time, and firing it front without sealing of "walling" the trunk is gonna cause major cancellation and make you loose about 10dB

i don't think that your theory of cancellation is right, as i have a 5 cubic foot forward firing box in my sunfire, and i'm comen on the 150 db on a tl...so i am not sure that theory is exactly correct. i think he should try it, and see what happens. i have had many boxes and my forward firing box was way better. just build it so your subis far to the side of the mic , and make one MASSSIVE port haha, a big *** square port worked well for me.

i'd expect some where in between high 130's, low 140's, theres lots you can do to gain, check out the forum a bit, i'm sure you'll find some things.

there is a free event on sept. 9th you can get your system tested at, its in Markam ontario, at concepts on wheels.

my back seats r also taken out tho and the sub if faceing into the car not faceing my trunk and my back seats are takin out so i dont think that it will get as much bass cancellation as you think it will.......
