What Do You Think I'll Hit
wow this forum is full of idiots
post like these remind me of something like when a man asks the general public how long they think he will last in bed durring a sexual encounter before the first time he has sex. but this case is even worse cause the dude said he wont even compete.......why u wanna know how long u will last then? just pick a number and stick to it in your head.

same setup
man i got almost the exact same setup, kicker 15'' L7 in a custom slot ported box with the ultimate T3-1000D beating on it, and it gets loud in a hurry, i would guess im somewhere in the 150's, and at leats thats what ie been told by people who compete in spl comps..so i would guess you would be somewhere i nthe 140's, good luck with your setup man

Only way to make an educated guess is to hook it up and have at her, then you'll KNOW what you can hit until the next time you make a change from that. Most stores that have an RTA will see what your car will do for a nominal fee.
Some people seem to forget that subwoofers are meant to play music at first. Even if you don't compete, if you apply the same trick that work for SPL in a SQL or daily booming setup, it will get louder, harder, better. Avoiding cancellation, muffling, port turbulence, and frequency selectivity not only get you a few tenth louder on a meter, but can also make a subwoofer setup more enjoyable
The wave bouncing backwards into your trunk and back up to your subs will be a little out of phase. If the wavelength for 40 Hz is 8.5m(speed of sound/Hz) and your trunk is a meter deep, then the waves will be 45degrees out of phase. Not too bad. But at 80Hz its 90 degrees. And at 160Hz, its completely out of phase!!! Sit in your car and have someone open your trunk and see if it gets louder. Seal your trunk off and you can gain back that sound leaving your car with the trunk lid open.
