it always scratched a little.... I don't really know what happened to it. All I know is one day (last week) it was really hard to move physically (frozen) and REALLY SCRATCHY, so I cut it apart. There was alot of saw dust in-bedded on the coil and sitting in the bottom of the gap. I got pictures but its hard to see. It must have sucked some up from somewhere at some point. Other than that, the bottom of the coil separated from the top, lol Almost split in half. It was a bitch getting the cone/coil out & pulling the wire out the gap, lmao, but I got it.

So, I'm waiting for my recones to arrive so I can cut the other one apart and recone them both good as new with D2 aluminum coils.

2.2 gain in 5 days? Damn Paul, either you've proven the best way to get loud is to get on a TL and test, test, tests, orrr there is very little to do in Windsor lol. either way I'm proud of you, jealous, but proud. especially since it happened in a van, Team Minivan ftw

Not really "A LOT" just like a residue under the surround, on the coil, in the cracks between the basket & motor and in the bottom of the gap.... when I removed the cone my fingers left marks on the surround. Theres lots of prints so I don't know... my box was resined before the subs were installed, so I don't see where the sub would have come in contact with saw dust.

COME ON, recones!

Yep, the TL has pretty much paid for itself... for me to double my power would have cost more to gain the same. I was never really "tuned" so I think I've just about run out of gimmi gains. Now it's time for the hard work.

It was Yuli's little pic of your 144.9 that got my *** in gear to get the 145.0. That and I was bored.... your right, Windsor has FA to do in it. Unless, you like bars, strippers, gambling & prostitutes... then we have all kinds of things to do. lol

weird man, if thats the one that had the fo spl sticker on it i never used it, never gave it power. It does kindna look like its the one i used in my yellow fiberglass box tho from the yellow dust on it. if it is that one it never had any scratching when i used it. but from the coil it looks like it was pushed by distortion and the coil cooked.

The reconed one that we have previously talked about is still "working". This is your OLD one. I did get it a little smelly coming back from Barrie (5 hours of music) only running that one in your box tuned to 50+hz so who knows... I might have broke the coil trying to pull it out the gap. It was stuck inside and only moved about 1" when I cut it loose. Took lots of pulling up and down to get it out. lol So I think that's how it separated. lol It does smell a little cooked but I'm very cautious about clipping my amps. I'm sure the saw dust didn't help the coil any. lol Either way... I blamed the wifee... she had it at work just before I went out testing and noticed it, so I bet she did it, lol

No worries, all good, just need my recones.

LOL nice job. I have a Visonik I just pulled out that looks almost the same. Wire came off coil and was stuck in the gap. VERY stinky Will post pics when I find the adapter for the memory card in my phone.
