....At least I'm putting forth some type of effort to promote db Drag...Something I don't see a lot of others doing....I've decided that it's more productive to at least get the wheels in motion(or at least attempt too)then to sit here going "When's the next show?"...More people need to try and make the shows happen...

If I had the cash for a TermLab,I would be hitting everyone I could to try and get as many shows as I could!

Shoot me down for my efforts if you so wish...But I know at least I'm doing my part to make db drag bigger and better.....
Ahrem.. .I BELIEVE I said A+ for effort.

The fact that you did something is great. I was just trying to offer a suggestion to make your efforts more worthwhile.

Aaron your efforts and dedication are definatly good, we need more people like you in the industry. I have a few suggestions. My recommendation is since you are unable to hold a show on your own, Instead of going after people to host shows, I'd say stand behind and help the people who currently are. When you have ideas like this maybe direct them to Ray and he will most likely put togther a proposition for the people who you are trying to contact (in this case World of Wheels). There are also many other organizations other than dbdrag. I know James (Westec off here) runs usaci and would be more than happy for information like that.

Another suggestion I have for supporting the industry in general is help people at shows, even talk to new people at shows. You'd be surprise how far just a hello will go.

If you go to the show this year, please go by the show office and speak with
Tom Williams or Bill Knight for to discuss future events. This year's event

I've got company coming this weekend so I'm not entirely sure I can make it...But I'm damn sure going to try..

Anyone else going should try to contact these gentlemen and help me get things going..Who's in??

Very nice man.

If you do go, be sure to dress all respectable like. Make it like you're running a business and you're trying to sell something.

Maybe even bring someone along who has put on a show that could give more info if they ask for it.

I'm fully agree with your statement Chris.

I would take this advise if I were you, Aaron.

The powers to be are doing a great job in Western Canada and there should be lots of great shows this year.

Remember there are always things in the works.

Personally I've got 2 new shops on board to host shows this year so far and hope to gather more interest.

As soon as I get all the details worked out the information will be posted.

Thanks for the advise...I'm going to try and make it down, but I have company coming in from out of town..So I hope they understand..

I also have a couple numbers for the Commercial sales reps and Public relations rep.Lucky for me I work for the main sponsor here,Auto Value and can get a little bit of inside info.

This could get real interesting real quick...I'll keep ya posted!!

there is a simple way to get the interest up.

instill and eager want in them. they dont hold a show just because they like cars. they do it cause its profitable. this is the reason that audio thunder had db drags and it is also the reason cause they dont anymore. this is the instilling that you want to create. or at least for world of wheels. maybe say some thing to the effect that a triple can yield thousands of consumers at a show, or that the car audio industry alone in canada is a mulit billion dollar industry and that it is a piece of the pie that they do not want to be passing up. or that ray is the only or a few certified triple point judges in Canada and that a triple show alone can possibly yield competitors from usa and canada. Explain that sport compact nights and driven to perform and importfest and import showoff are shows that yield thousands and thousands in attendance and that car audio is a major part of those shows. or any other fact that truly would inspire a business to look at it further in their own interest.

i suggest this cause it is also the way that we go about to get sponsorship. and to this date i have been fortunate that sponsorship has come our way. We've spend countless hours prepping proposals.

it is this proposal that you should put to gether and back it up with facts and numbers to instil the eager want that you are looking for. email if you need help.

good luck aaron.

i would love to the a dB Drag at the WOW show this weekend (or next year for that matter), the only problem is that the WOW show is mostly just about american cars, mopar, and hp. they don't seem to have the db drag style. i'm not putting the idea down, in fact i'll help you promote this weekend...i'm just saying don't be surprised if they flat out say no.
