Hmm... Is 20Hz even audible at all? Looking at the equal-loudness contours, it takes 70dB output at 20Hz to have equal loudness as 0dB output at ~1000Hz. To keep up with music playing at ~90dB output, you'd need ~120dB output at 20Hz... And that's with zero distortion...

Sure, for directivity reasons... but if the inductance is high, the high frequency response won't be that good in the first place... It's the voice coil/motor that determines if it will play higher freqs well.

it's been shown that mass affects the overall amplitude/magnitude of the frequency response, but not the shape of it. i.e, the high and low end rolloff...
