On boxing day I picked up a 9851 for a good price. SInce I wasn't able to really go through all its details at the store I didnt realize it doesn't really have an equalizer.

Is this true? Am I missing something? If it is, I almost feel cheated.

I have had crappy audiovox decks with an equalizer that was fun to play around with. If this Alpine doesn't have anything to alter the sound Im thinking I should return it and get something else.

Thanks

Well Im not just talking about bass.
What about setting it for different music (i.e. classical, rock, rap), and then being able to customize those settings in a "custom" preset or something?

It does not have what you are looking for. Look at Panasonics, kenwoods, Sony, JVC etc... I personally prefer to have add on signal processors which allow for much more customization, time alignment, x-over settings etc...

Thanks guys

I returned my deck and bought a 9855. Damn it has a lot of stuff on it.

Its overkill for me, but I this will kick my *** to start learning more.

Cant wait to get my 4runner on the road so I can start using my gear.
