Alpine IMPRINT and 4 tweeters

I have recently installed an Alipine 9886 deck and purchased the IMPRINT kit and tuning kit. My front speakers are CDT ES-620 components and I have a second set of silk dome tweeters mounted in the the factory locations which are where the mirror ajustments would be in each window.

I have Imprinted the car a couple of times now just experimenting with different mic locations and such. It sounds good however I seem to be able to match the sound with Imprint off using only time alignment.

It got me thinking that there is likely something I am doing incorrectly when it comes to the Imprint kit. I mean, if I could tune that well using only time alignment the Imprint would be a colossal waste of money.

My thought is that perhaps the imaging tweeter is messing with the Imprint kit. I will be taking out the image tweeter next time I do the Imprint however would like anyone's guidance on this to see if there are some other causes of the poor Imprint. I have been setting it up sans tripod so I will get one from the fam damly soon to give it another go.

I was hesitant to get the tuning kit but now I am glad I did because I can get in there anytime to experiment.

My setup as follows:

Alpine 9886
Imprint Ki
Imprint tuning kit
CDT-ES620 components
Energy silk dome image tweeters
Phoenix Gold Ryval 1502
Alpine MRP-M500
Big Three 0/1

Over the years I've found most auto tuning set ups are more hype than anything. A good tuner can and should be able to get a very good tune by ear. All my cars have been tuned by my ear for me...afterall, I'm the one listening to it. You always have to keep in mind that the microphone and programmed algorithms are no replacement for your taste. Just because some engineer thinks that a -3 dB setting at 12khz is ideal in certain situations doesn't mean I think it is. Subjective preference will always trump objective settings in anything that requires your taste to be satisfied. In other words, use it as a tool just like a simple equalizer...to get you in the ball park, then fine tune by your ear.
