Alpine SWR-1041D or SWR-1021D or JL Audio?

I ran a 10W3 in a small sealed box for around 6 months. I liked it. Sounded pretty good, and hit hard. Doesn't need much power to move either. IMO, the W3's have great low frequency extension, but not the tightest sounding subs out there. That ported enclosure may not have been tuned correctly for that subwoofer. I've heard some ported boxes that make nice subs sound like fart-canons

I have heard that the W3's are a better sub. I owned some Type R 12's and loved them. They didn't hit loud at low frequencies IMO but they were also in a really small highly tuned ported box, so that is most likely the reason for that.
Either way, they are good subs.

make sure ya get a small sealed box if ya go with the alpine gear... and if ya go with more then 1 sub your gonna want a bigger amp... i got two type r 12's there like what someone said before they sound good and unique but they dont pound or slam at low freq... if i had time back id gone with JL w3s having owned old old ones before
