quick Ultimate 500D + 2x Alpine SWR-1021D question

im getting this amp soon from one of the guys off of the forum
I had a quick question about an install

im assuming this is the way im going to wire it up?

subwoofers are 2ohm per voice coil
so if i hook up coils in series and subs the way shown on the picture above ill get 2ohm load which will make the amp run at ~1000W?
i use 4 gage or bigger power and ground?
does that sound correct?

also can any1 give any tips of install/use/we amp install. in previouse threats it indicates that theyr very touchy and need to be hooked up correctly

Thank you!

So if I got this right you have 2 subs, with both being dual 2ohm. The amp is 2ohm stable. sooo.

you will hook up the individual subs voicoils in parallel to make it a 1ohm sub. Then hook up the subs in series to make it a 2 0hm load. done.

if im correct that is exactly what diagram shows
because as manual of the amp shows subwoofer coils in series and then plug them into the ports which my guess is makes subs hooked up in paralell?

im not finding ultimate online manual very helpful so far :S lol

here is manual link btw
