my first type-x is on the way...needless to say i'll be paying attention to this thread. I'm building a sealed box this weekend @ 1.49 cu ft. Sub should arrive shortly. I'll be pushing 900 wrms at 2ohms, but keeping the gain at the optimal level...

The sealed box route is good for this sub, it pushes a lot of power and the SQ is great, I went ports because this sub hits better for hip hop frequencies in a ported box and thats my type of music, low bass notes. You have a lot of power being pumped to it eh, should sound good, If that's your firebird, nice looking car man, looks good

thanks man, although I'm slowly realizing trans ams aren't the best cars in canada haha. only get to drive it 5 months of the year...im finally at the point where my music is louder than the exhaust...which can't be good for my ears

hahaha sure thing on that 5 months of driving, since we live in winter most of the time...and I'm assuming that is bad for the ears once you can't hear the big v8 anymore..probably got some kind tweaked exhaust on it as well, and if you can't hear that then... hahaha

Need to do some finishing touches, sanding the edge and putting beige carpet over it. Also going to channel the wires better, obviously :P. Had to retro fit as the edges were still touching the glass...nothing like a handy reciprocater saw...thanks moop haha.

Anyway, sounds awesome, and the hatch closes...im happy.
Dimensions are 19.75" x 16 x 11 (excluding the top baffle). Net cu ft is 1.38.

Sounds like the car would be loud eh and with that 12 against the hatch I can only image how loud it would be. I once did a cheap clarion hook-up in my buddies integra with similar hatch style, so loud as it pounds off the window right to your head. The x would probably make you go deaf as it pounds off the hatch..hahaha
