Ok im about to buy the BLT 12 and its got alot of configurations, which i really dont know what to choose...

What would you guys recommend:

P Chamfer: This is a chamfer on the end of the pole, it helps to bring the air down around inside of the motor and helps cool the coil better. It also helps relieve the pressure underneath the dustcap. We recommend at the bare minimum to get this option if you choose this series of woofers. (so i guess i should say yes for this)

Cooling: Self explanatory, the cooling channels are machined into the inside of the sub to help cool the coil FAR better. But there are some things that you sacrifice. There is less metal inside of the motor so it is a little weaker. If you are looking for a fart/burp only scenario for SPL we suggest that you do NOT get this option. Stick with only the P chamfer. Now if you are looking for a daily sub to beat on and you have 2000+ watts the BTL series is for you. (so i guess its another yes)

Universal: This option gives you the choice to later chance the impedence of your voice coils. You can change from dual 2’s to dual 1’s and vice versa by reconing them. If you do not choose this option your motor(s) will be optimized per the coil resistance that you have chosen. (Dual 2’s will forever be a dual 2 motor, Dual 1 will forever be a Dual 1 motor). (im not sure which is better here?)

Flatwound coil (+$20) – The flatwire coil option simply helps the power handling of the sub. The coil has more surface area to dissipate heat and will take more power then the regular round wire coil that comes in the ‘stock’ version of the sub. This option will also make the sub tend to be more prone to ‘peaking’ for a budget daily driving sub where you don’t have to use a ton of power to get maximum output and sacrifice sound quality a little bit.

Flatwound coil means HiXm coil right?

What is I heat ring?

I like the hifonics amp better:P more power n half the price but it doesnt show any shipping rates for canada .... just my luck....

Thanks for the input guys, i hope to be able to show you my set-up soon

that hifonics amp will likely put out less power than the sundown at the end of the day. Also, the sundown will be a LOT more reliable.

the BTL and the type X are wildly different subs... and youve never heard a BTL either correct? Have you heard the X? Why are you buying a sub anyway?

my bimmer comes with the Harmon Kardon set-up, but it lacks alot of base,

And im hoping to upgrade the sub first, then the mid range drivers.

Oh i also got a apline Iva deck, since i wanna watch movies as well:P

And i havent heard the BTL, but i have Type X's in my Integra, and they are soo amazing to me. Since my bimmer is my daily car, i dont want it to take up soo much room, thats why im going with just a one sub set-up. Im guessing that the BLT will be louder than the type x.

I bought a red top optima battery as well.
