Anybody into fixing electronics?
I've been without my 8250Ti for a while and I took it in for service because it wouldn't eject or load a cd.
I took it to a shop. They tore it apart and I went in, they told me it would need a whole new cd mechanism....they quoted me $250......does this sound reasonable?
I probably won't even bother getting it fixed, unless maybe it's not as bad as they're telling me.

Brandon, di you think this shop is reputable? If so then take their word for it, on the other hand you could get a second opinion... Then you must ask youself is it worth 250 dollars to fix it? you are not likely to get a better deck than that for 250. On the other hand I may have a alpine 7995 I could sell you, LOL!

the 7995 is sweet, one of my favs.
I'll get it fixed eventually, but I'm in no hurry, I'd like to get a new car first, but I'm using my DRX-9255 right now and while it sounds great, it also skips like a highschool pothead.
PM me about the 7995 though.

Sound Center in Ajax has done a good repair for me for a good price and they did the alarm fix for me after an accident. I've seen them do some decent installs and i've got a lot of parts accessories there.
I have an alpine 7559 I'll sell.

Yea they did a good job on my 9255, but I didn't want to keep using it because it's skipping pretty bad. It's old...it's time is done I think, I picked up a 7995 off another guy on here and it's working great for now.....maybe next year I'll pick up a W200 or something along those lines since I can't seem to get away from cars with double DIN decks(damn GM).
