yes I did, ummm, like 165 something or other. I'd have to contact Carz to get exact #'s.
I have heard quite a few midbass drivers in my doors, zeropoints, sapphires, morels and the focal. I am missing that low extension that I would like...
Thanks for your interest Dave.

Yeah, they are really shallow, and I will be building them out. I had thought of dual woofers, but 2 would require twice the airspace, and more importantly, twice the price!
Dave, in compination with a kick 4" and tweet, the doors would be strictly mid-bass.

a 3 way design is very difficult to set up, especially if you are doing passive, due to the phase issue between the door midbass and the kick mid. how low are you trying to get the midbass to play, 50hz, 60hz?. i question the variovent, bet dont dismiss it. if you properly deaden the door and be sure to cover and holes in the inner door skin, you should be able to shake your pantlegs, if you cant i would look beyond the speakers for the cause of the problem, btw what x-over(s) are you going to be using, and another problem with dual midbass is the multiple point source problems assocoated with them, have you ever considered a really good 2 way set-up?

Yeah Dave,
I have the door is lined with enough deadliner (inner and outer) to make your average BMW jealous. I was trying to get down to about 50hz, nice and flat. The x-over is fully active (50hz, hp @24db, 400 hz lp @18db), and the front stage is bi-amped. I like to run my subs @ 40hz, because I think they sound way smoother at that low-pass. That pantleg shaking midbass is what I'm after, but not getting right now.
Thanks
