Best car for SQ?
Well, I dis-agree about the car thing. DEFINTELY some cars are better then others AS A STARTING POINT. Them there big Impala's and Crown Vic's are apparently very good. Scott's Nissan Altima is apparently another good choice. At the end of the day the car you start with CAN help you in your planning and make things easier. That being said though, a smart installer CAN make just about anything sound good........... almost. BTW, good deals to be had on 2004 Nissan Altimas as the 2005 have been released already.
As far as the centre console thingy, agreed on that UNLESS you get your mids and tweeters up on the dash or in the A-pillars. So once again, it's an install thing.
One thing to consider. The HARDEST area to solve in car audio is the lower mid-range and the midbass. If you can nail that the rest is easier. Also recommend that you consider doing IB for the subs and ditch the rear fill if you're going to compete. You don't need it. Sell it and put the money elsewhere.
Take a long hard look at Scott Buwalda's Nissan Altima and drop him an email if necessary. He'll share a lot of good info with you.

I was planning on going IB with the subwoofer, since it can handle it, and apparently does well in that application.
I was thinking of not having any rear fill, but I'd heard people talking about needing it. so if no rear fill is necessary... easier for me!!
thanks for the tips!

You'll want to look for a car that:
- Is wide
- You can get the seat as close to the center as possible (pass and driver)
- Interior is long
- Has very little glass
- Has cloth interior
- Has a flat floor
- Has flat door panles
- Has a symetical dash on each side
- Has a very short dash (don't stick out to much, or not at all)
The number one thing has nothing to do with the car. Find someone that can build correctly, and tune it correctly.........most case's it's not the same person.

I'd say Buick 2 doors are the best. Look at the Speakerworks Buick and Gary Biggs Buick. Clearly the best choice. OK, I'm outta line here. The car that won my class at world has a huge center console, so I'm sure how big of a difference it makes, depending on the angle of the kicks. I'd love to use a Lexus for a SQ car. With a wide floorpan and seats with lots of room from the speakers.
