dose anybody know a good box design for a 12" type R. i just bought it and looking for it to have good SQ and SPl.

for sq go ported and spl sealed
so what do you like more of ?
sealed for spl becouse the box is not set to a hz and you do not need to play with port set ups to find what will give the best bang
you can do spl with a ported box but it will need time to play with to get it right
and SQ porded is better if you sit in a car with a porded box you will know why i say that!

 

follow Alpine's recommended set up for ported if you have the space or sealed if you don't.

 

well i got this "design" from were i bought it from but it only gives me the port length?

I second that last responce, i always built ported box's for the 12" type-r's (last years) 2-2.5 cuft, and 30-32hz. Always sounded good. I haven't ploted a new type-r yet since i haven't had my hands on one till now, i'll be building a box for a 05 Type-R 10 next week.
