Changes!!!!
Over the past few months, I’ve talked about “blank sheet” system design with regard to numerous components. I’ve asked questions, and shared opinions relating to driver selection, electronics, and installation. It has all been part of a clear direction that I’ve been following for over a year.
Just recently the puzzle has started to fit together nicely…just enough so that I can see the light at the end of tunnel.
I think at some point, everybody gets sick of dreaming about doing something. At that point they either move onto something new, or take hold of the idea and run with it. I’m at that point now.
Recently, I’ve had 2 really nice things happen to me. One is a bit private, but it allows me to chase my dream system with more confidence. The other is renewed support from my fiancée, encouraging me to chase my dream.
So what’s cooking?
I realize I’ve been a bit quiet lately, but things have definitely been going on. I’m working on sourcing new midrange drivers and tweeters for my project. I’m also considering some new amps, which might be a real surprise. It’s definitely exciting talking with the involved parties, because they are enthusiasts too! Finally, due to the above, I’m having to change some things in my car. This will involve some upgrades to my power system, more cutting up of the interior, and the use of some new materials. The latter I’m still trying to source.
The kick panels will be made of 4 different materials structurally, and have 3 different materials used externally.
The power system will support massive current demands, and be extremely flexible for both charging, and supply demands. (read…you can plug anything in you want)
The interior is staying the same; just every panel will be modified slightly. I’m not saying anything more about that, it’s a surprise.
The aluminum trunk adventure was a good learning tool. Some of it will be redone; some will be added. All in all, it should be a unique approach to a fairly simple task, bolting stuff down.
Last, and most important, is system tuning. I’m literally taking the system out of the car to do this. I’ve got a new approach that should shed light to anyone serious about getting the most out of a speaker. It’s not new to me, but it’s new to my system so far.
Lots of fun planned. Just wanted everyone to know that I’m not dead, and I haven’t given up on the car stuff. I’m just taking some time to enjoy the more important things in my life, mainly my fiancee and family.

Adam, I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, but, when I was a bit younger I used to listen to rap, and any music with ALOT of subbass. Strange but true. This is why I got 4 subwoofers way back then. This is an old install and it's still going strong.
Mike, that was an illusion.
In fact...I'm just one big lying posser.
I don't really have a car....or a stereo...and I'm just pretending to know things.
You've got to admit...I'm pretty good at faking it!!!
