Custom Components
Fuel37 has been spoiled by my Focal Utopia 3 way set. Got to give him credit for trying to do something nice on a limited budget. Maybe a custom component set is more work, but you can't fault him for trying.

I wish I had CCA 10 years ago, would have saved me some headaches.

my custom component set ended up costing way more than it was worth.
live and learn.
Got to find the right speakers.. once you do that the xovers are a breeze.
good luck.
PEI330Ci , what equipment do you have for
testing speakers?

I think i can make my car sound better on 1/8th of the cost though... the guy has no clue what he's talking about
haha... i'm also looking at a couple of CDT sets
I hear their some of the best budget systems you can get... or maybe i'll just save a couple hundred extra and get a utopia set... since i already know i like them....

I used to have a Vifa setup that sounded very good, but I used the home drivers. Can't remember the modl numbers but I still have the speakers at home. The mid was an 8 ohm 5.25 and the tweet was 6 ohm's and was the large format type (big front plate and very large conventional magnet), it sounded very good in my Jetta, but I was using active crossovers with a channel of amplification to each driver. That is the best way to do custom drivers IMO.
