A Debate on the many different aspects of sound
just wondering, do i need an (sealed/vented) enclosure in door panel to mount 6.5" component speaker for SQ setting?
The answer to your Q is No BTW
But you may want to seal or correctly port the system later for more accurate SQ.
Well Defro my opinion is based on the fact that this a forum and opinions are what makes it so great.
Now as far as experience venting a door, I have none. I also have no experience being hit in the head with a baseball bat but I can assure you that it would hurt.
I have not tried to vent a door because I see Zero benifet in doing such. Sealing the door properly will give you enough mid bass to balance out the system.
But Id love to here what your thoughts are as to why it is a good idea since you may be the only one I have heard of with experience venting a door?
Just like Dukk says also " I also dont believe processing the crap out of a signal is SQ"
We all have our preferences If it matters at all I believe in Vented enclosures.

having a processor capable of processing the hell out of something and actually processing the hell out of something are totally different. i find it also interesting that dukk accuses me of over processing but has never heard a sytem that i have ever done and has never seen how much processing i actually use in comparision to how much i could use. you belive in vented enclosure but say they arent worth it, you have based your preference on something youve never heard. i think even a meathead would know without getting hit in the head with a bat that it would hurt, but im not to sure that the same, i guess i will call it logic, applies when determining the difference between a vented midbass/midrange and ib or sealed without hearing it, perhaps before you knock it you might try it, that seems logical.
