Well..... The Milbert amp is based on the David Berning EA-230. which is a Audiophile home Tube amp. The BAM-235 is basically the same amp with a beefy high voltage switching power supply which run on 12V.

I agree with JohnVroom,
You can have good sounding solid state and tube gear, just like you can have bad sounding solid state and tube gear.
Circuit design and build quality are very important.
The car environment is terrible for a tube amplifier.

True, all things have there good points and bad.
A great amp is a great amp no doubt. Just like a high priced amp thats made with junk is just that. But from a musicians stand point as well as from any true lover of sound itself....well the tube takes the cake. Yes, solid state has its place (I have two now), but when trying to find that place where quality rather than never reaching 12 on the dial matters the tube is where you will find it.

Positives- tubed products just look sexy! Their appearance justifies the cost for some, they are certainly rugged enough for the automotive environment (they can qual to MILSPEC), you will be the only one running tubes on your block
Negatives- they can have a higher noise floor, They run hot, I think they change sonically as you change tubes and as the tubes age, and of course tubes are a limited life product.
Most judges preferred my car with the smaller TU4360 (4 channel) running the Dyns full range, and the sub too. I thought it was very good but not neutral.
I am running a Zapco now and feel the sound is much more neutral though more distant and a little less live (have not been judged with the Zapco). If Counterpoint only made a car amp... (as with all counterpoints I would love the sound and hate the reliability)

I've had my eye on the TRU all-tube, but mainly the copper hybrid per tube hybrid for a while now. Does antone know if the other tubes have high voltages on the plates?
I also think they are dead sexy. I love the copper look.

I've owned nine Tube Driver amps (all models from the original line), and have auditioned the newer blue models. In terms of spacial characteristics, I liked all of them a great deal. But each new generation was an order of magnitude 'tighter' sounding.
I didn't really like the US Amps TU600 - but that's just my opinion...
Sadly, I'd take a good solid state over all of them right now. I like dynamics and control - so that works better for me.
