When has the show been delayed till?
The green tape is one of the least sticky. Good for you windsheild, but not for the plastics. I get clay from a local gardening shop. I would not recommend it for you dash area though, it get pretty soft when its hot. For you dash, mix up the lead shot instead. It works well and you can get it at wal-mart.
The show has been delayed, so you will still have some time.

I've got dowling, Glue gun, and a frustrated attitude - I think I'll need a electric staple gun. Any suggestions?

why not. put your factory a pillars in. take a little materail away at a time until u can reach your desired mounting points such as u have in the picture. then hot glue them to the facotry pieces. then fiberglass them out of the car.
your end result would probably be better.

Get yourself some blocks of paraffin wax, and heat it until it's soft (but not too soft). Press it onto your dash, and let it harden. This will give you the contour (but in negative).
Wrap the bottom of the new wax mould with fibreglass to get a positive (bottom only, not sides), then your set. You can make many copies of this, all done outside the vehicle, and never damage your dash. If you Armour-All the dash prior to waxing, it won't stick at all.
If you try to fibreglass inside your vehicle, you will get some on the carpet, seats, you name it, regardless how much effort you put into masking it off.
Work smarter, not harder.
