jbl 660gti
All the reviews that i have read say they are worth their money. I want to get the most i can out of them so i was interested in amplifying the mid and the tweeter separately. First question is: Is that a bad idea? if not how much can the tweeter take compared to the mid? are there better tweeters that i could use instead? why I ask that is I'm planning to put a pair of jl audio 6.5" 150watt rms in as well (too cheap to buy to pair of 660's) that are going to be needing tweeters i imagine. Should the tweeters in the back match the ones in the front or will i just get a wider range of sound (could be a dumb question)?
Also. Is their a good 3 or 4" mid that would compliment this set up. I want all the range of sound as best i can, everything i listen to has instrumentals and i want it to sound real.
I have not ordered the 660's yet, so if anyone thinks its a poor idea, i would love to hear it.

well thank you for the reply, I kinda figured that i would be making uneducated choices, which is why i posted here, but im in a bit of a hurry, I'm currently without tunes, been so for the last couple of weeks due to being stolen, and im beginning to go crazy. I was planning on putting the jbl's in removable pods that i can take up with me when im not using them, I havnt figured out how yet, but im leaving for a road trip in a month and i wont have time to do a proper theft proof speaker install. Like i said, i cant afford two sets of jbl's, and wasnt sure if they would be enough.
Is there a better 4 speaker sollution that would sound better? Is there anything i CAN add to the pair of jbls? and i could use some help learning about bi-amping the mid and tweet.

I would not bi-map the JBL's as they come with a very nice crossover, and I would either buy a cheaper coaxial set from JBL for rear fill, I would just make sure I could get all softdome tweeters all around so you dont mix metal with softdome, if JBL has that option(not sure of their lines). I would obviously get a four channel amp with at least 150 wrms a side to feed those speakers, or you could get a two channel amp to power the fronts only, or a four channel amp and bridge it to work as a two channel, and power the rear speakers from the head unit, and you may have to use a fader feature to fade out the sound from rear speakers a bit. These types of speakers are not really meant to play full range so you will have to use a highpass filter of around 80hz/12db on them, and use a sub with an amp lowpassed at around 60-80hz/12db-24db depending on the vehicle. You could run the JBL's full range if needed but they will not stay clear sounding at louder volumes this way.

thanks sasha. im currently bent on getting the jl hd600, so i will have the rms you mentioned x4, but im not sure i get the idea of putting cheap coaxial in the back. I was actually thinking of putting the jbls in the back and something toned down in the front because i would be closer. However now that i have been looking....
Are there a set of focal v3 3 ways comparable to the jbls? or would i need to be getting the k3? I could spring for the v3 and keep the jbls but if i get the k3s i might be busted before getting anything to high end in the back. I really do like the idea of a 3 way system in the front though.
