kicks vs. doors for daily driver
Most of the time it isn't youself that you have to be carefull of with the kicks. It's your passenger's.
Stilleto's can do a whole lot of damage to some pods and if she manages not to puncture the speaker/cover she may just scuff it with a heel. If it breaks her heel it's your fault and you don't want to have to listen to her complain about that!
I'm all for kicks but in smaller cars you really need to be carefull and ask yourself how many people can you trust getting in/out of your car.

Also, its wierd. We had the vinyl dye out to match it to the grey interior, but after we saw the black, we liked it. It kinda matches the Saturn mismatched grey and black interior pieces. Even at a car show, I have to point out the car even has kicks to come people. I have had people in my car listening and ask whats in the doors cus they image really well. For a daily driver. Man I just can't see how kicks work, don't your friggin' legs block the sound man. I mean if you're like 98 pounds or somethin' you might get some sound to your ear, but if you're a little bigger your leg has got to block a lot of the tunes. The other problem I always have is that my foot likes to rest exactly where the driver kick goes. My size 16dd shoes are bigger than most kicks man. If you are building a comp car it's cool, but for a daily driver I can't see it bein' practical. Just my opinion.

Not small by any means and they work fine. I am not small either. 6 foot, 230lbs. So I say go for kicks. You just have to take a little more care than doors. I also snowboard and mountain bike, so the car goes through some pretty dirty periods. The kicks still look like the day they were built. </font>
hey man if they work for you cool I'm a little bigger 6'6" 290-305 dependin' on what I had for breakfast...I've sat in a lot of cars and trucks with kicks and I guess I'm too big to enjoy them cause I can barely hear em'. Maybe I'll buy a caddy deville and have the seats moved back a few more inches...maybe then I can try these kicks since they seem to be so good.
^^^ WHOAH, your huge, 6'6" 300. I've only met two people as big as you.
Cool that your Kicks can stay clean like that. My cup holder is right above where any potential k.p.'s would go, so they would be coffee coloured in no time at all.

thanks for all the replies.
i will def. keep looking towards doors with just a simple baffle and some deadener.
now i either need to find the money to get this done pro, or get some ***** and do it myself, hehe. i did the rest of my install, it's just been so long...

With them in the kickpanels each tweeter is closer to being the same distance away from your head. The closer to the same distance the more centered your image will be.
Set up carefully they will not pull the image down drastically.
A-pillar tweets have made a resurgence lately but one has to keep in mind that time alignment is often used to distance the driver's side one out as it is considerably closer to your head than the passenger one. Without the time alignment it is hard to get the image centred.
