After looking around on the CreativeSound.ca website, I found the GR Research AV kits, as well as others designed for home theatre such as the Jordan and Elf kits. I am most tempted by the Elf and Jordan kits for the rear surrounds as they are cheap and will ship from Canada. I'm thinking maybe the diluceos, or Seas Thor from Solen for the fronts. I still need a centre channel and sub as well.

Has anyone auditioned the AV, Jordan, or Elf kits in home theatre?

^ The gr research kits are shipped from the states though.. still have to pay tax's etc at the boarder.. sucks.. On all of the DIY boards the gr-research kits come up the most oftain.. People sure do like them alot.

I dont know about those jordan and elf kits.. For home theater the extended high end that a tweeter provides is important i think, for breaking glass, explosions etc..

If your limited to canadian dealers, and are not sure about the higher priced thor, diluceos kits etc.. Then maybe look at the Vifa premium a/v designs i posted.. They use the Vifa ring radiator tweet.. Very nice tweeter.. And if you want you could upgrade the 2 mains to a scanspeak event, reference or ultimo.. Price jumps up alot though. also theres adire audios kits on creatives website..

As for subs.. the 2 most popular is the shiva and tempest (Creative sells these to). Adire has instructions/application notes for difference enclosures here: http://www.adireaudio.com/TextPages/...eFrameText.htm

^ If I were to pick up those vifa or Thor kits, how much would you charge me to build the cabinets and ship them to Toronto?

Are you sure you have to pay the duty?? I thought they would go to CSS first, before being shipped to you.

^ It says on CSS website that there shipped from GR-Research directly to you.. And that you will be charged pst & gst, along with brokerage fee's. There is no duty sense the product is made in the USA.
