Look for the silver titanium cone form tang band. It's a really well reviewed 4inch that is also available at solen.

I had a look but can't find this specific one from tang band. but I'm looking for a 4 ohm speaker. also I find these tang band pretty deep. .. but like danyman mentioned I might look at some 5" inch midrange as well.. it would help cover some lower frequencies.

I'm using the Hybrid Audio L4. I would say it's one of the better 4" mids available. It's frequency response extends up to 15Khz and still plays low. I would suggest you take a listen. Just come the the IASCA Eatern finals. You will get the chance to hear lots of different speakers which might make your decision easier.

ya I read they're good but probably too expensive for me right now.., I was told the SLS 6.5" will not play well above 150 Hz, so I'll be looking into a mid range to meet that..

if your SLS wont play over 150hz i think your gonna miss alot of "kick" for your rock. i would choose a midbass that would play up to 500hz at least... but thats me lol

your not gonna want to run a Mid to 1k in the door dude.. you stage is gonna be low, and crappy.. you could run em to 150hz or so.. and get a good midrange in the kick, or dash to run to 150 to 5-6 k, aand a tweeter to run from 5-6k and up...

Take it for what its worth.. and good luck.
