Before I mount some speakers in the car, I was wondering how the choice of materials the speaker mounts on effect the SQ of the speaker. I mounted some Focal PolyKevlar speakers in my Corrado using closed cell foam weatherstrip. Does the thcickness or squishyness of this material have much impact on the final sound? On my BMW 3 series, I will be mounting the speakers (Dynaudio) over some MDF with Brown Bread between it and the sheet metal. Should I use the same weatherstrip between the speaker and MDF, or just mount on the BB? Thanks, Bob.
