Mounting speakers in MDF over flat sheetmetal

I was wondering if this would cause some undesireable effects. I was thinking of mounting my speakers into 1/2 MDF with a coat of Brown bread on one side, then onto some flat sheetmetal where my kick panels are with a coat of Brown Bread on that. The Metal is going to have to be cut up to accomodate the speakers and I thought this might be my best solution.

thanks, Bob.

I've mounted 200 watt rms 8' drivers on plastic side panels with MDF with no sound deadner and I didn't have any rattles at all. mounting your speakers on metal with deadner and MDF should be alright.

from what you described of your mounting. I dont think it be any different if you mounted it on a door like that. Id say give it a try, it will be solid at least
