so the actual man that designs the speakers does'nt know which one to recommend?geez, and to think he built my bud's 12" avi neo's.pesonally,i've run both lx160 and sl 170 as midbass and liked the 170's better.my bud also runs avi components
hf25v,mxd130,and a set of sl200 8"subs that were reworked for midbass use, along with the neos,in a chev tracker, and in our sleepy little town, nothing even comes close to it
anyway,i've pretty much decided on what equipment i'm going to use, wanted more opinions on placement, especially the subs.eg.-behind rear seat facing up,back,forward-in very back of hatch, facing up,forward toward listener?
i found for spl, firing rearward from behind seat into hatch gave most output, but what about for sq?

just got off the horn with richard from avi--
told me that the sl170 is desisged as such that it would make a very good mid bass-in the proper tuned enclosure, with the right crossover-xn16l,xn45g. case closed, i'm using them.

actually, the spec sheet for that driver indicates a midi vent vol of .4 cu ft and a maxivent vol of .53 cu ft,also i'm not using the three way passives-too high midbass cut-800hz.the 16l will give the midbass 400hz down,45c's for midrange/tweet-400hz&3500hz.
