i`m looking to build up my front stage in my 97 malibu. but as is typical with chev they like those 4x6`s.

i have a pair of boston 746 plates in there but they have very little mid bass.

i`m looking to move into a 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 component set, but both will require alot of cutting.

could i get away with the 5`s, or should i just go big with the 6`s?

 

Do the work, the ultimate goal is good sound so dive into it and get it done right.

 

i figure i`ll keep the car till it dies. i want the 6.5`s but i`d like to do it without getting into any fiberglass work. the winter is coming and my shop is out in the garage and i could do it in the basement, but the stuff will stink up the entire house.........................than girl/wife to be starts squawkin!
