The best 12 I have ever used for all around performance IMO was, believe it or not, the older RF 'DVC' DVC 12. RFP-2212 if I remember right.

I always thought the old RF DVC's were great performing drivers (the Punch Power being the RFP-2212 and the regular Punch being the 1212).

Unfortunately I never did get to hear enough technical tracks on them to say just how good but overall I was impressed.
