Need some help, advice, & opinions

Ok to start off here's what i'm coming from.
Alpine CDA-7987 cd receiver
Alpine 3-way spx f17t older F1/Flagship comp. set
JL audio 300/2 & 500/1
2 - 10" a/d/s a10s

Up until about 6 months ago my car was broken into trashed, , sad day for me, 3days after my bday and 1week after moving to the new city. Only the speakers did they not take. So in order for me to run em, i'll need another 3-way x-over or run them actively.

So here it is where i'm gonna start, i need some tunes, i'm dying from listening to just my rear oem 6x9's in my civic. I'm looking for somethign to fill in until i figure if i go big again in this car or for the next. I luv SQ, can't handle the spl anymore, so clarity and clean sound is good news to me.

As for something that's cheaper or just quick, i found a set of CDT CL61A w/ upgraded tweeter to TW-24. they are slightly used as from the seller says about 2 weeks.

Being in calgary, nobody sells them and i've never heard anythign from this company. found a couple reviews and well the users like them.

Something else as hopefully price isn't bad is finding a used set of Canton's, one of my brothers friends mentioned to me a few years ago that the best musical sounding tweeter he has heard was from them. So i would definitely like to give them a try. What do you guys think? anybody have some forsale and does anybody know of any dealers for them in canada.

Next power, so coming from the JL slash series amps, i never had an issue with them, they were great, clean power and very effieicent for what i was using them for. Something came up with 2 Xtant amps,a x604e & x1001e. My brothers exact words for when these came up for sale was "Buy em". Says they are underratted for what they can do and are very good. I just recently read a post about them way better for a midrange, but their vocal detail aren't as good as an Audison.

Which is the next choice, for choosing one amp, i considered an Audison LRX 6.9 amp. And again another idea came up, a used orion comp. HCCA 425 for about $150.

As for subs, I have a set of Hertz energy 8's to try out as i'm told their not super loud but do sound good, and box space is small. Unless something better can be found, i would consider doing another set of 10's for the right price and that won't take up a huge amount of space.

If there's something else you can add or give, please do. I have been offered other brands like focal, morel, elemental designs, dynaudio, but again price is a factor at this moment b/c i'm trying to buy some realty.
An older ADS amp or speakers would also do the job as ebay doesn't have too much.

Sorry for the long post, thx for looking

All I know about hcca amps is that theyre pretty power hungry.
I havent used any, but a friend had several back in the day, and he rates them as "good, but not great"

If itll do the power you want for a price you can afford, then it could be worth a shot.

CDT, Ive only heard two sets of their speakers and they were nice, but no nicer than anything else in a similar pricerange.

Cantons are supposed to be very nice, but I havent heard any.
On diyma.com there is a guy doing a big warehouse clearing and hes got some Cantons for sale, arould $190usd for a set of components.

Xtant... no idea, rumor says theyre good.

A/D/S... have one and I love it, looking for another one to run a pair of midbass.

Well for the orion hcca amp it was 150, and i don't know too much about it either, however i do know they are a high current amp and can handle 1ohm mono and 0.5ohm stereo loads.

as for the CDT speakers they were forsale for $120

Thx for the heads up on that diyma forum, i'm seeing they got a ton of stuff, like a a/d/s amp, a couple pairs of canton speakers.

I loved teh a/d/s a10s's i had, sounded so good, it was just right. Really wish i could get them back, as well hear a set of their comps too but after getting bought out my DEI, they stuff didn't go so great.

When you said you considered the Lrx6.9 I'm guessing you meant the 6.SR correct? I would stay away from the 6ch route.

The problem with the HCCA425 for your application is that the amp is meant to be loaded down to take full advantage of what it can do. With a rather low ouput level at 4ohm it is not ideal for use. It is a very good amplifier and as it can be had for cheap you may want to consider it to use if you decide to puchase a pair of subs and could get them in a dual 2ohm design.

The Xtant amps are nice and may be just what you need. I've never been a fan of regulated designs but those two models should be big enough to feed the speakers you've been planning with ease.

No, The LRX6.9 is the new model that is available now. What's wrong or why is it not a good idea in going with a 6channel amp?

I understand with the HCCA amp, it's more of a performer when running at a small load (.5ohm stereo/1 ohm mono) stable right?

Hardwrkr, u mentioned that your not a fan of regulated designs, what do you use? is there something that I should be looking at that's better?

also i'm abit confused on how you can you get a lower resistance in stereo mode. would you just apply/power more than a set of speakers to the first two channels?

Does anyone recommend planet audio amps? like the P-series or HVT-series?
