Right now I have a PPI amp that puts out 500w rms at 2ohm going to a JLW3V2-D4 wired for 2ohm, 350w rms, JL rates the sub at 500w rms MAX before it goes into the warranty void zone. I have read that putting the extra power into the sub isn't really giving it that much extra db anyways. Mainly I want my setup to last awhile without messing anything up. I have had the W3 in both a slot ported and sealed enclosure and favour the better SQ of the sealed over the loudness of the ported.

I want to upgrade but without hurting my pocket, I would also rather have 2 subs over 1 since my setup will also be for show. Everything on the amp is turned down to prevent any possible damage to the sub but would I be better off with say 2 subs rated at 250w rms, any suggestions on subs? I was thinking of the infinity reference series subs the are being liquidated on ebay, either 2 10's or 12's, do you think these would be louder in sealed than the W3 in a sealed? Any major problems with these since they are going like crazy on ebay?

Any suggestions on the situation would be helpful, thanks.

Does anyone know whats up with the infinity reference series subs going like crazy on ebay tho? I'd assume making space for the newer models but the amount of them seems rediculous.

they're selling on ebay for about what they're worth. And then tack on the $30 US shipping most people charge.
