^ Cost you about $8 on Ebay
All true but the Butler/Phase/TDBlue amps all have solid state outputs. Not sure on the Planet Audio how 'much' of it is a tube amp..
on the other hand you might want to read up on tube amps... high output impedance can and will color the sound... that could be percived as 'better' by someone who wants that inferior 'tube' sound... also a tube amp's clip behaviour is vastly different then that of a solid state amp.... (yes in a perfect world this wouldn't be an issue but for the other %95 of us our amps do clip) Hard clipping a tube amp is percieved by many as sounding not bad or even good...

I find the sense of timing to be better with the older Tube Drivers. On orchestral work they seem to convey the feeling that the entire group is playing as one, yet each instrument is distinct. The newer ones seem to blur the time domain ever so slightly. They don't convey a sense of rhythm like the older ones.
How's that Dave? Will that hold you over till Joe posts?

^ It sounds like your RCA ends are not aligned. Rotate them so the labels read the same way

I wasn't going to respond to you but then I saw that you had an XES Z50. You mean to tell me you would spend that kind of cheese on a headunit and not think that the amp matters?

Not only do you have to align the RCA and batteries, but you have to make sure that you breathe and blink at certain intervals so that burning a calorie or two does not cause fatigue and ultimately force you to hear time smear.
