I can't speak to their quality personally as I have yet to hear them, but someone mentioned to me recently the JVC Arsenal line was a solid performer. There are some good reviews of their gear online if you dig far enough. Perhaps another member here has had a chance to experience them personally and can speak better on the subject than I can.

Pioneer as with most other brands just raised their prices. You can thank the Canadian Dollar for that. The TS-D720C MSRP is up to $299.99 I believe. But shop around, if you can find a store with old inventory they bought at a lower cost you should be able to get a better deal.

Dave, you are such a ***** for suggesting that! Coming from you are I thought that you would have suggested that he "go to his local Future Shop/Best Buy to source out some adequate speakers, then go down the street to a local shop to buy them and have them installed".

Some of the best advice I've ever seen you give around here Dave!

Thanks for finally starting to realize that some people ENJOY doing their own work and learning about the fabrication process!

Here are the components I picked up a little while ago.
Yeah, they're from XS Cargo, but this link made me think they are worth a shot.

So far I've been very impressed with the sound quality (I haven't installed the mids in my car yet, but I've played with them in some small enclosures in my shop, and I was blown away by the detail in the vocals and horns in the music I was listening to).

Draw-backs - Limited installation instructions:
while the tweeters have 4 levels of attenuation, I needed to use my multimeter to find out which output was which (the crossover just labels them as A, B, C & D and the owners manual does not elaborate )

The other draw back is the tweeter mount:
Surface mount is reasonably solid, but because it is only a 1 screw mount, you can rotate the tweeter on that axis.
Flush mount is sketchy - just a large washer with teeth to bite into the back side of the tweeter cup - I prefer to see a screw on back plate for flush mount.
And Angle mount I couldn't figure out at all (again - nothing written in the instructions )

If you go with these from XS cargo, be sure to open the box and make sure that ALL the parts are there. I went to 3 different stores before I found a complete set.

For $100 + taxes, I've been impressed.
My previous comps were Polk EX 2 and these Clif Design comps are blowing them out of the water hands down.
